Headboard Storage
The Problem
This is a personal project I started to solve a real problem I have: due to the layout of my room, I do not have space for a nightstand. I also lack enclosed storage space. I then aimed to design something that could offer a surface where I could have a lamp, alarm clock and phone as well as storage underneath.
I quickly measured my bed and designed a storage solution that would fit my specific use case but that could also be used by others. It has four shelves on the side not against the wall, with the lower shelf being smaller to accommodate for baseboards.
On the wall side, it has a top opening so that the storage is still accessible. This way, it leaves surface room for items one would need besides the bed, but also takes advantage of the wall side storage without creating extremely deep shelves.
This project is currently being budgeted and I plan to construct it in the coming months. The design is fully parametric, meaning that it can adapt to any size bed frame both in width and height.
